NATURAL THERAPIES REBATE CUTS

Submissions for Minister Hunt on Private Health Rebate cuts have now closed. Thank you to those of your who submitted an email.

On Thursday 11th October, despite 4,818 personal emails from the Australian public urging Minister Greg Hunt MP to use his authority to save Private Health Insurance rebates, legislation was finalised banning insurers from providing cover for 15 popular natural therapies including Naturopathy, Herbal Medicine, Yoga and Tai Chi.

Insurers may choose to offer “incentives” to members for those therapies, however they can no longer provide them under general extra’s cover.

More than ever, it is imperative that the community stands together to protect the future of natural therapies and healthcare choice.
